The BQ40Z50RSMR - R1 is an advanced battery management chip launched by Texas Instruments (TI), 

designed specifically for 1 - 4 - cell lithium - ion/polymer battery packs. Its functions and applications are as follows:

    Principle of Operation:

    1. Voltage & Current Measurement

      • The BQ40Z50 continuously monitors the battery's voltage, current (via a sense resistor), and temperature using its integrated ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter).

      • Coulomb counting (current integration) tracks charge entering and leaving the battery.

    2. Impedance Track™ Technology

      • Texas Instruments' proprietary algorithm estimates the State of Charge (SoC) by analyzing:

        • Battery voltage under load

        • Charge/discharge current

        • Cell impedance (changes with aging and temperature)

      • Compensates for battery aging, temperature, and load variations.

    3. Communicating with the Host (Tablet)

      • The BQ40Z50 communicates via I²C/SMBus with the tablet's main processor (AP/SoC).

      • Standard Battery Management Bus (BMBus) protocols (e.g., SBS commands) relay:

        • Remaining capacity (RemainingCapacity())
