Nvidia CEO Says "New Scaling Law" Drives Demand

After a 78 - percent jump in revenue last quarter, Nvidia sees continued growth. Despite concerns that DeepSeek's compute - efficient models could dent demand, 

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed confidence in the continued strong demand for the company's GPUs. 

Huang said the emergence of reasoning models has led to a new scaling law, which requires the deployment of more computing resources. 

The latest data from Nvidia showed strong demand for its products, with sales in the data center segment growing 93 percent to $35.6 billion.

The US White House Announces New Interim Final Rule on AI Diffusion
On January 13th, 2025, the White House released a new regulation on AI technology control. 

The rule streamlines the licensing process for chip orders, bolsters the US leadership in AI, 

and provides clear guidance to allied and partner countries on how to benefit from AI technology.

 It consists of six key mechanisms, including no restrictions on chip sales to 18 key allies and partners, 

and no license required for chip orders with a total computing power of no more than about 1,700 advanced GPUs. 

The rule also takes significant restrictive measures against countries of concern to prevent them from obtaining high - end computing power for training advanced AI systems.
Europe's Chip Act Comes into Force
On the 21st local time in September 2023, the European Chip Act officially took effect. 

The plan promotes the industrialization of key technologies through the 

"European Chip Program" and encourages public and private enterprises to invest in the manufacturing facilities of chip manufacturers and their suppliers.

 Under the framework of the bill, the EU plans to establish a coordination mechanism between member states and committees to strengthen cooperation, 

monitor chip supply, estimate demand, and activate emergency mechanisms if necessary. 

The bill requires that by 2030, the EU's share of global chip production should be increased from the current 10% to 20%.
